Camp Madness?

The Ultimate Virtual

Inter-Camp Competition

Bring your camp community together to compete in a fierce but fun competition in a

March Madness style bracket.

Enter as many camp teams as you'd like before the brackets fill up. 

Each camp will submit a 3-4 minute video showing off their spirit. Content should be creative and original:

 

  • Camp Songs

  • Choreographed Dances

  • Campfire Skits

  • Wacky Talents

Entries must be original content and have licenses and permissions, including music. 

How does it work?

Register Your Camp here and submit the $125 entry fee, a portion of which goes to SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education). 

Upon registration, your camp will be sent an email with a link to submit video entry. Camps must submit videos by August 19, 2020 at 11:59 PM. 

After receiving all registrations, Camp Madness will place all camps into :March Madness"-style brackets to compete head-to-head with other camps. You may choose to compete in the first round against your camp rival (creates drama and built-in friends, family, alumni audiences throughout the tourney.)

The competition will run from August 20, 2020-August 30, 2020. Upstages proprietary voting platform facilitates real-time suspense, anime, anywhere voting for each round match plays out over two week. Upstaged has produced multiple Digital Music and College competitions. 

The winner of each bracket will be determined by the number of votes. The competition takes place on happycamperlive.com where videos can be reviewed and votes submitted via email to a third party party digital voting platform.  

 

Personal data will not be kept, stored or maintained at the conclusion of the competition. Data is used only for the purpose of notifying voters via e-mail.  

Anyone can vote! This is a great way for camps to connect with their broad community of campers, staff, parents, friends and alumni.  

The winning camps continue to move on through the brackets until the first place winner of the entire competition is declared. 

Prize packages will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. 

The competition will be fun and fierce.

 

Rules:

1) Each video must be submitted between July 29th and August 19th at 11:59 PM

2) All videos must be newly created content. It can include short clips or snippets from previous content but must be overwhelmingly new. 

3) Only staff and campers from your camp may participate in the creation of your video.

4) The goal of this competition is to show the spirit of your camp. You can do this in any way you like, but all content must be "camp appropriate," and posting is at the complete discretion of Camp Madness competition committee. 

5) The winner of each round will be determined by the camp who receives the most votes

6) The competition will take place from August 20th through August 30th, 2020.

Two and half years in development, Happy Camper Live was the brainchild of Allison Miller, 22 year summer camp veteran. Her vision is to see that every child has the opportunity to go to summer camp. Happy Camper Live shows kids all the possibilities that American summer camp has to offer. This virtual camp themed platform was built to encourage kids to go to camp no matter what their background or geographic location. 

Upstaged is empowering our nation’s college, high school and campers to passionately celebrate the joy of competition as athletes with its extensive experience in the world of digital performing arts competitions.

What is Camp Madness?


Camp Madness is a virtual inter-camp competition. Camps submit videos showing off their camp spirit. The camp communities determines the winner by voting on their favorite videos to see who will make it to the final round.




Is there a registration fee?


The entry fee is $125 per team. A portion of your fee goes to SCOPE.




Is there a prize for winning?


Yes. The winning camps will receive a prize package for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.




How do I move through the tournament?


The tournament is round-based. Every round, each camp will be pitted against one other camp to compete head-to-head. The winner of the round will be based on the number of votes each camp's submission receives. The camp with the most votes will progress to the next round until there is a single winner.




How can people vote for my video?


Each round, your camp will be sent a link to voting for that round. It is your camp's responsibility to share this link with your community via email, social media, etc.




How long does voting last for each round?


Each round's voting will last for 72 hours. Votes received after the 72 hour mark will not be counted towards your camp's submission.




What does Camp Madness do with my camp data?


Happy Camper Live, the host of Camp Madness, is a COPPA certified platform. While we are using a 3rd party platform to run this competition, no data will be collected or used in any manner unrelated to this competition. No data will be sold. Personal data will not be kept, stored or maintained at the conclusion of the competition. Data is used only for the purpose of notifying voters via e-mail.




Who is eligible to compete?


Any overnight or day camp for children ages 3-18. Registration is done on a first come first serve basis. Once the brackets are closed, a team may be put on a waiting list to enter the content.




Can a camp enter more than one team?


Yes, a camp may enter more than one team into the competition. Please note however, that the teams may place each other in one of the bracketed rounds.




How do I enter my team?


Click the enter my camp button and complete the regsitration from including payment of the $125 entry fee.




How do I submit my video?


Once you register for the competition you will recive a confirmation with a link to upload your video to the third party platform. All videos remain property of the camp and will be permanently deleted from the third party platform at the end of the competition.




Who do I contact if I'm having trouble with the submissions proecss?

How will the teams compete?


In each match, two teams (represented by their video entry) will go head to head against each other. One will be voted the winner and will move on to the next round.




How do I invite my camp members, family, friends and others to vote in the competition?


Direct them to happycamperlive.com! Every page of the virtual competition website also has “Share” links to share wins via social or email, and spread the word to help drive excitement and voting for your team.




What security measures are in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process during the competition?


Upstaged Productions has secure software in place to prevent voter fraud. Every vote requires a first name, last name, and verified email address in order to count.




Age of Voters


You must be 13 years of age or older to vote in the contest. Anyone under 13 years old must vote through their parents email accounts.




Additional Rules


This Contest is void where prohibited by law. Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If an eligible winner cannot be found for the prize, that prize will not be awarded. Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the designated Happy Camper Live Contest administrators and/or judges, which are final on all matters pertaining to the Contest. Contest entrants agree to abide by such additional contest or competition rules as may be applicable to specific Happy Camper Live contests or competitions, and published by Happy Camper Live from time to time. Entrants further grant to Happy Camper Live the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

Votes will be cast on happycamperlive.com after registering and validating the voter's email address through a 3rd party service. The team with the most votes will progress to the next round until there is a single winner. Votes do not carry over from round to round.




How can people vote for my video?


Each round, your team will be sent a link to voting for that round. It is your camp's responsibility to share this link with your community via email, social media, etc.




How long does voting last for each round?


Each round will have a designated time frame during which your camp community may cast their votes. Voting timeframes can be found on the Camp Madness landing page at happycamperlive.com.
